ARTeFACTo 2026 BEJA – Expanded (A)udiovisual (I)ntelligence, is the 5th International Conference on Digital Creation in Arts, Media and Technology, hosted in the city of Beja, Portugal, at the Polytechnic University of Beja.
The conference promotes interest in digital/media culture and its link to art and technology as a key research area, with a focus on digital media/computer artefacts. It covers their design, creation, research, implementation, exhibition, and role in society. The event also aims to develop conceptual foundations for artefact theory in digital media.

ARTeFACTo 2026 BEJA aims to increase visibility for artefact creators and researchers, whether theorists or practitioners. It seeks to establish a shared space for discussion and exchange of new experiences, promoting a deeper understanding of digital arts and culture across a broad range of cultural, disciplinary, and professional practices. Therefore, we warmly invite scholars, teachers, researchers, artists, IT professionals, and others working within the wide-ranging fields of digital media arts, communication, culture, philosophy, and education—particularly those focused on artefacts and artistic installations—to join us.
ARTeFACTo is an initiative of Artech International.
